Staying Active, Building Confidence, and Having Fun
At Newlands Bishop Farm, we know that staying active is essential not only for physical health but also for mental wellbeing, confidence, and social connection. That’s why we offer a variety of inclusive sport and physical activities that our project workers can enjoy — all within a supportive and fun environment.
Activities That Inspire Movement
We encourage project workers to try a wide range of activities, no matter their ability or experience. Our sessions are designed to be accessible, enjoyable, and tailored to individual needs. Activities include:
- Cycling
Riding around the farm or local routes, helping to build fitness, coordination, and road awareness. - Climbing
Indoor and outdoor climbing sessions that promote strength, problem-solving, and self-belief in a safe, structured setting. - Nature Walks
Group walks through our woodland and surrounding areas to enjoy fresh air, explore the outdoors, and connect with nature. - Multi-sport Activities
Including football, rounders, yoga, and more — all aimed at encouraging movement and teamwork in a relaxed, social setting.
Supporting Health and Wellbeing
These activities go beyond physical exercise. They support mental health, improve mood, and help project workers build important life skills such as:
- Teamwork and communication
- Resilience and determination
- Goal setting and motivation
Participants are encouraged to challenge themselves at their own pace, celebrate personal achievements, and support one another — creating a real sense of community and belonging.
Open to All Abilities
Whether someone is a complete beginner or already enjoys being active, there’s something for everyone. Our staff are trained to provide encouragement and adapt activities so every individual can take part safely and confidently.
