Npower staff power through jobs at the farm

Npower staff power through jobs at the farm

Today we were joined by some fabulous teams from Npower who helped us get a lot of jobs done all over the farm in the very best wet British summertime weather! The teams helped us get lots of logs spilt ready for winter, weeded the vegetable beds and tackled a huge fencing project! The fencing at the back of the barn involved installing two gate posts, hanging gates, digging and concreting in all fence posts. This area will then provide us with a safe hardcore area to work with the sheep as well as fencing off the back of the…

Thank you to our volunteers

Thank you to our volunteers

We are very lucky at the farm to receive wonderful support from lots of local and national companies who want to donate their time helping us develop projects further. Without their help and support projects such as the sensory garden would take twice as long for us to get underway plus the extra finances which would need to be invested to purchase materials. In honour of #nationalvolunteersweek we would like to take this opportunity again to thank everyone that has helped the farm in any way by donating their time or raising funds, we couldn’t do it without you!

We cannot thank all the staff and students at Eversfield for their hard work and generosity, we will be having a grand opening for the tractor at our open day in September.

November is a time for finishing off projects and getting ready for colder weather approaching us in winter. Some of the vegetable beds have been covered and insulated, this is to stop any new seeds from settling into the soil and to keep the soil a little warmer so that any seeds already in the bed wont be killed in colder temperatures. The horticulture team are in full swing with making wreaths ready for our sales day on 7th December 11-3. Be sure to pop down and check the farm out, there will be lots on offer including Christmas trees,…

By the end of the day it looked like a fairy godmother had come and waved a magic wand around the farm! The groups split into several teams tackling different projects around the farm. Three of the teams headed to the winter field where the horses and sheep will be throughout the winter.
